Attendance: It is important that students are here every day of class and arrive on time. If a child needs to miss a class or will be late, please e-mail shannon@towntheatre.com in advance with as much notice as possible.
Cancellations (Summer Camp and Youth Theatre Classes): Cancellations are permitted for valid medical reasons only. In this case, documentation signed by a physician must be provided. Medical-related cancellations will receive a refund of fees paid (less initial $100 deposit*) or, in the case of summer camps, may be transferred to another session for the same camper. If there is a price difference in the camp, the enrollee is responsible for that charge.
*The refund for Camp Tap Tap Tap Away would be $20.
Class Placement: Class placement is primarily decided upon by grade/age. The theatre does reserve the right to place students in another class due to ability and/or casting needs.
Class Size: We limit class size to provide quality instruction. Currently, our youth theatre classes are capped at 20. Most summer camps are capped at 15. The cap is determined by class content and space.
Dismissals: Town Theatre reserves the right to dismiss a student due to behavior issues. Refunds will not be given for student dismissals. Students will not be dismissed without consultation with the theatre’s Executive Director, the youth theatre instructor, the student and the parent/guardian of the student involved.
Inclement Weather: In the case of inclement weather, Town Theatre will hold scheduled classes if it is deemed that staff and students are able to travel to the theatre safely. In the event that a class is canceled due to inclement weather, we will update our website, Facebook page, and will email all class participants. Town Theatre is not responsible for classes that are cancelled due to acts of God.
Refund Policy: If a parent withdraws their child from summer camp or class no less than 2 weeks prior to the first day of camp, a refund of fees paid (less $100*) will be given. If a parent withdraws their child from summer camp on or after the two-week window, no refund will be given unless cancellation is due to a valid medical reason (see cancellation policy).
*The refund for Camp Tap Tap Tap Away would be $20.
Wait lists: For youth theatre classes, please follow any instructions regarding getting on a wait list. For summer camps, please contact the theatre to be placed on a waitlist. Online registration will not permit “overbooking” the camp. For classes or camps, you will not be charged tuition. If space becomes available, we will contact you and you have 24 hours to enroll.
What to Bring: For partial day summer camps, students will need to pack a snack each day of camp. For full day camps, students need to bring a lunch each day. Please pack items that do not require refrigeration or microwaving. We also encourage students to bring a water bottle with his or her name on it. For theatre classes, students do not need snacks due to the shorter duration of the class.
Scripts and sheet music may be distributed. If they are, students will be expected to return each day with scripts and music.
What to Wear: Students are very active in our classes. No flip-flops or slip-on shoes should be worn. Comfortable clothes that permit movement are helpful. Town Theatre is an old facility and we diligently monitor heat and air. Please know that, when it is cold outside, a sweatshirt or sweater may be needed. If classes demand other specific attire (such as makeup or tech class), students will be notified.
Town Theatre reserves the right to adjust programming or cancel sessions based on the number of registrations. In this event, the theatre will attempt to transfer the student into another class. If the schedule doesn’t permit that, a full refund will be given.
