TOWN TEEN TROUPE (T3)
T3’s mission is to provide musical theatre/performing arts development and performance experiences for older youth at Town Theatre – typically those in 9th through 12th grades. T3 students are introduced to multiple faculty and guest artists who focus on PROCESS. By honing their vocal, dance and dramatic skills, students gain performance experiences that are intentional and unique. T3 focuses both on ensemble work AND individual progress for each student.
T3 is a year-long commitment with classes being held on MONDAYS from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. As we progress throughout the season, the last hour of class may be designated for smaller group work. This will be scheduled with advance notice. Participation is by audition only. Typically, students who are in T3 in a given year are invited to return the following year.
TOWN TWEENS
Town Tween’s mission mirrors that of T3, but is geared toward students in 5th to 8th grade. Like T3, Town Tweens are introduced to multiple faculty and guest artists with a focus on skill development and the processes involved in performing. Tweens participate in intentional and unique performance experiences. Tween faculty focuses both on ensemble work AND individual progress for each student.
Town Tweens classes involve a year-long commitment with classes held on WEDNESDAYS from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. As we progress throughout the season, the last half hour of class may be designated for smaller group work. This will be scheduled with advance notice. Participation is by audition only. Typically, students who are in Tweens in a given year are invited to return the following year. Tweens who wish to participate in T3 as 9th graders must audition.
2024-2025 Performance Opportunities
Home for the Holidays – this show is a part of Town Theatre’s 105th season with run dates from Dec. 6-15. Both T3 and Town Tweens will be a part of the cast. Production pieces will be learned IN CLASS with minimal rehearsal outside of class.
T3 Spring Show — Saturday, May 31 at 3 PM/Sunday, June 1 at 7 PM
T3 will have its own Spring Show (selection TBA) on the above dates. Rehearsals will be held during regular class time with potential for additional rehearsals the weeks of May 19 and 26. We will poll before scheduling.
Town Tween Spring Show — late April 2025
Town Tweens will have their own spring show (selection TBA) on the above dates. The show, however, will be designed to tour so that it can be performed in other locations as well. Rehearsals will be held during regular class time with potential for additional rehearsals surrounding performance dates. We will poll before scheduling.
T3 and Tweens will continue to learn individual performance pieces that can be done as pre-shows for Town Theatre productions. We will also continue to seek external performances not only to help the students enhance their performance skills but also to give them the opportunity to give back to the community.
