TOWN TEEN TROUPE (T3)
T3’s mission is to provide musical theatre/performing arts development and performance experiences for older youth at Town Theatre – typically those in 9th through 12th grades. T3 students are introduced to multiple faculty and guest artists who focus on PROCESS. By honing their vocal, dance and dramatic skills, students gain performance experiences that are intentional and unique. T3 focuses both on ensemble work AND individual progress for each student.
T3 is a year-long commitment with classes being held on Sundays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Participation is by audition only. Typically, students who are in T3 in a given year are invited to return the following year.
Town Tween’s mission mirrors that of T3, but is geared toward students in 5th to 8th grade. Like T3, Town Tweens are introduced to multiple faculty and guest artists with a focus on skill development and the processes involved in performing. Tweens participate in intentional and unique performance experiences. Tween faculty focuses both on ensemble work AND individual progress for each student.
Town Tweens classes involve a year-long commitment with classes held on Tuesdays from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Participation is by audition only. Typically, students who are in Tweens in a given year are invited to return the following year. Tweens who wish to participate in T3 as 9th graders must audition.
T3 and Tweens will jointly produce Les Mis: Student Edition June 7-9, 2024. It is Town’s intention, beginning in March, to run classes more like a rehearsal schedule. That means that students may not always be called. We will provide a schedule in advance so you will know what to expect. The goal will be to work during the T3 and Tween regular class times, but we will also poll for other days in March, April and May so that we can hold full-cast rehearsals for Les Mis.
Auditions for T3 and Tweens are generally held in the summer if open spots are available. Those wishing to participate will have an individual 15-minute audition. Typical audition details/requirements are HERE though these can change from year to year.
