The Tony® Award Winning musical, Million Dollar Quartet, brings December 4, 1956 to life with an irresistible tale of broken promises, secrets, betrayal and celebrations. Four legends, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley gathered at the Sun Record recording studio in Memphis, Tennessee, where they’d launched their careers. Word soon leaked out of an impromptu jam session. A newspaper man who was there wrote, ‘This quartet could sell a million.’ Soon, they were dubbed the Million Dollar Quartet. This was their only performance, a cultural flashpoint that caught rock ‘n’ roll at the moment of creation.
Town is proud to showcase this fabulous quartet – Town newcomer Jeff Mobley in the role of Johnny Cash, Austin Means (The Secret Garden) as Jerry Lee Lewis, Alex Cowsert (Beautiful) as Carl Perkins and Thomas Bozard (Little Shop of Horrors) portrays the King himself, Elvis Presley. Audiences will delight in hearing Ashton Boland (Gypsy) as Elvis’ girlfriend, Dyanne. Narrating our story is Jeff Sigley (Something Rotten) as Sam Phillips. Providing additional fantastic musical support is Gage Banks (Come From Away) on drums, Billy Bishop (Matilda) on bass and Bert Ligon (Come From Away) on guitar.
“Goodness gracious! Great Balls of Fire,” you don’t want to miss this rock-n-roll show that will have you dancing in the aisles!
