Town’s bunch of magnolias includes Town newcomer Syhaya Smith as Truvy, the vivacious and big-hearted owner of the beauty salon, always ready with a wisecrack and a can of hairspray. Emily Clelland (The Red Velvet Cake War, Hello, Dolly!) takes on the role of Annelle, Truvy’s shy and quirky assistant. Gayle Stewart (Nice Work If You Can Get It) plays the wealthy, witty widow, Clairee. Kathy Hartzog (Always, Patsy Cline, Driving Miss Daisy) charges in as Ousier, the salon’s curmudgeon who barks louder than she bites. Debra Kiser, returning to the Town stage after last being seen in Kiss Me, Kate in 1979, brings strength as M’Lynn. Zanna Mills (The Play That Goes Wrong, Bright Star) portrays her daughter, Shelby. Each flower in Town’s bouquet brings unique charm and strength to the stage, creating a tapestry of love, laughter and resilience.
At the show’s helm is veteran director, Allison McNeely. The fantastic looks of the time are being created by costumer, Dell Goodrich. Jodie Harris provides wig and hair design and Kerry Ayer McGregor stage manages. Town’s technical team is at it again with Bob Bramhall on set design. Jeremy Hansard leads the set build and light design, with Clark Wilson assisting on construction and sound. David LaTorre also assists with set construction and serves as props master.
