Prepare to laugh, cry, and feel every emotion in between as Steel Magnolias graces the stage at Town Theatre! This beloved Southern classic invites you into Truvy’s beauty salon, where a group of strong, witty, and endearing women share their lives, laughter, and love.
With heartfelt performances and sharp humor, this production celebrates the bonds of friendship, the resilience of the human spirit, and the power of community. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to this iconic story, Steel Magnolias promises an unforgettable evening.
Town’s bunch of magnolias include Town newcomer Syhaya Smith as Truvy, the vivacious and big-hearted owner of the beauty salon, always ready with a wisecrack and a can of hairspray. Emily Clelland (The Red Velvet Cake War) takes on the role of Annelle, Truvy’s shy and quirky assistant. Gayle Stewart (Nice Work If You Can Get It) plays the wealthy, witty widow, Clairee. Kathy Hartzog (Always, Patsy Cline) charges in as Ousier, the salon’s curmudgeon who barks louder than she bites. Debra Kiser, returning to the Town stage after last being seen in Kiss Me, Kate in 1979, brings strength as M’Lynn. Zanna Mills (The Play That Goes Wrong) portrays her daughter, Shelby. Each flower in the Town’s bouquet brings unique charm and strength to the stage, creating a tapestry of love, laughter and resilience.
Steel Magnolias is directed by Allison McNeely.
