Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated “Bah! Humbug!” Scrooge summarizes his feelings of Christmas tidings and joy, but he’s forced to face his selfish ways when the ghosts of Christmas reveal truth.

Town’s leading Scrooge is none other than Tracy Steele (The Sound of Music) who is visited by his late business partner, Jacob Marley, portrayed by JJ Woodall (The Addams Family) and guided by spirits of the past, present and future taken by Zanna Mills (Bright Star), and Town newcomers Gavin Slusher and Ashton Boland. We’ll meet the ever-faithful Bob Cratchit, reprised by Joel Yarborough (Mamma Mia!), the loving Mrs. Cratchit, played by Kayla Ellingson in her Town debut, and the sweet Tiny Tim, in the hands of Carter Ellingson, also making an inaugural appearance on our stage. We see Scrooge as a child, in the hands of Kyran Burkett (Newsies) and Scrooge as a young man, portrayed by Jack Bingham (Something’s Afoot). The jolly Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig are shared by Rich Fisher (She Loves Me), Chris Matney (Something Rotten), Leah Tudor (The Music Man) and Town newcomer, Casiphia Wohlfeld. And we can’t forget Scrooge’s good-hearted nephew Fred, portrayed by Samuel Cleveland in his first Town appearance, and Emily, Scrooge’s long-ago love, taken by Sara Slaughter (Spamalot).

Filled with festive cheer, bustling townsfolk, joyful carolers and plenty of holiday spirit, this musical retelling of Dickens’ classic tale warms the heart and reminds us all that it’s never too late to say, “Merry Christmas!”

Through the music of Broadway heavy hitters Alan Menken (Disney’s Beauty and The Beast, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors) and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical), this A Christmas Carol has fantastic new life ~ just like Scrooge himself!
