Les Mis Escape Room
For all ages – a perfect summer family event!
9:00 AM – 8:00 PM (One hour time slots)
Cost: $20 per player for a team of 5/$15 per player for teams of 6 or more (Sign up for this unique adventure will not be until May 15, 2024 ~ starting at 12 noon ~ but be sure and put it on your calendar!)
Though our Town Teen Troupe and Town Tween’s production of Les Mis: Student Edition will have closed June 9, our set will stick around “One Day More!” The backdrop of our show will be transformed into an immersive escape room game. Participants of all ages will work as a team to find hidden keys, clues and other surprises leading you to freedom beyond the barricade during the French Revolution. History buff? A fan of Les Mis in general? This escape room is for YOU. Groups will sign up for a one-hour adventure. The clock is ticking ~ will you make it through to “Hear the People Sing?” A group must have a minimum of five participants with a maximum of ten. Grab your friends and family to become the “Master of the House” of Town Theatre’s first ever escape room.

Andy’s Coming! (A One Day Toy Story Pop Up Camp)

“Quick! Andy’s Coming!” Don’t miss your chance to create fun stories and become some of the characters in this exciting camp based around the world of Toy Story. It’s your turn to travel “to infinity and beyond” as Woody, Buzz, Bo Beep, Tour Guide Barbie and more! During this imagination-filled camp, students will develop their skills of character creation, crafting and storytelling.
A Day in the Magic Tree House (A One Day Pop Up Camp)

Join Jack and Annie from the Magic Tree House book series and we may find ourselves flying with dragons, dueling with pirates or having a late lunch with llamas! It’s one of the most exciting weeks of summer camp at Town – back by popular demand – the Musical Theatre Bootcamp!

Cost: $180 for camp session, includes 2 tickets to the showcase and all materials
Students will focus on different aspects of the show, James and the Giant Peach. From scene study to musical numbers incorporating vocals and dance, students will ultimately participate in a showcase featuring their work. Students will work on costume or prop creation as well – making this camp an immersive week in theatre arts bringing the whole musical theatre experience together.
The students will participate in a joint showcase ON THE TOWN THEATRE STAGE on Friday evening, June 21st at 7:00 PM. Cost of camp includes two showcase tickets as well as costume/prop supply cost which will be sent home with the student. Additional $5 tickets will be available for purchase.

Students will be led in basic games and exercises that are meant to be fun for newcomers as well as allow more experienced performers to challenge themselves while still having fun. Barbieland (A One Day Pop Up Camp)

Step into the spotlight as we learn songs and dances from the new movie Barbie! Students will create their own character as we play games and create fun stories throughout the day. Feel free to dress in your favorite Barbie attire. And, this camp will be perfect for the Kens too!
The Great Escape Challenge (A One Day Pop Up Camp)

Students with creativity and big imaginations won’t be able to escape having fun in this thrilling class. Students will be divided into two groups. Each team will create their own escape game full of keys, locks and clues. Once the masterpieces are ready, students will be able to “play” the other team’s game to see if they can make it to the end. Through the backdrop of an escape game, students will learn how to work as a team and create fun and challenging storylines in this exciting, student-friendly camp.

Commedia Dell’arte – A Netflix Pop Up Workshop

Don’t waste this day watching Netflix at home. Come to Town where you can create your own TV personality Commedia Del Arte – Netflix style. This one day comedy workshop will have you flexing those comedy muscles as you create a character, storyline and mask based on the attributes of a sitcom character of your choice. (Want more laughing in your day? Bring lunch and come early for the Improv Pop Up workshop at 1:00 PM.)

Students will be able to create characters, challenge their imagination and focus on teamwork and communication in a low-pressure environment using improv. Students will be led in basic games and exercises that are meant to be fun for newcomers as well as allow more experienced performers to challenge themselves while still having fun. This class is perfect for students who may have other activities that they are involved with this summer and don’t necessarily have the time to memorize lines outside of class or for those who become bored with repetition. (Bring lunch and stay for our Commedia Dell’arte FRIENDS workshop at 1:00 PM)

If you have ever dreamed of seeing your name in lights, this Broadway-inspired camp is for YOU! Using musical theatre songs and scenes as our backdrop, this camp will help students strengthen their confidence and learn valuable presentation skills, all while living out their dream to be a Broadway star! Students will also work as an ensemble where they will learn how important it is to share the spotlight. Camp will conclude with a showcase at week’s end where friends and family will be yelling, “Bravo!”

Theatre in a Box (Beauty and the Beast)

Come “Be our Guest” as we jump into the wonderful world of Beauty and the Beast. Town’s unique “Theatre in a Box” camp focuses on different elements of a stage production – character, props, background scenery and even costumes! Students will receive their own theatre box complete with all the materials needed to immerse themselves in the Beast’s magical castle. We’ll dive into various theatrical elements as we explore the well-known characters, scenes and songs from this beloved show. And we may even meet a character or two from Town’s summer production of the show. Theatre in a Box camp will conclude with a showcase which is part performance and part sharing individual work that was done. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of the “tale as old as time.”

Sing ~ Dance ~ Act! You can have it all! Join us for an intense (yet extremely rewarding!) camp for students who are eager to explore performing on a regular basis and perhaps even study theatre in high school and/or college. We’ll spend our days developing performance pieces (scenes as well as musical selections) that focus on the whole performer (vocals, movement, and character). Enjoy learning from diverse faculty with expertise in their focus area. An end-of-week showcase will allow students to present their hard work to friends and family.
This workshop is the perfect opportunity for current Town Tween Troupe members and others who may be interested in the program. Students who present themselves as potential members of Town Teen Troupe may be contacted to audition.

Mission Audition

Join us on a mission to find out what makes a perfect audition! Students will learn songs, dances, and short scenes throughout the week as they learn how to audition. Valuable skills such as speaking in front of people and other components of theatre will be taught in this fun class that helps with easing audition nerves while gaining confidence.

Ever wanted to direct a show but everyone says you’re too young? Here is your chance! Students will have the opportunity to direct/act in student-directed scenes throughout the week. They will learn a variety of skills that it takes to be a director such as creating a schedule, blocking and design concepts. Don’t miss the chance to collaborate with other youth students in this camp where you’re in the driver’s (or director’s!) seat.
