In general, interns will be scheduled to work between 20-25 hours per week from 9 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday for a minimum of 5 weeks. As school districts have a wide range of starting and ending dates this year, the overall timing of each internship will be determined upon award. In general, the internship can begin as early as June 5 and end as late as August 11. Interns will receive 80-250 hours of scenic building, painting and lighting work on a realized production. (Actual will depend on number of weeks work and average hours.) Time for vacations, etc. can be negotiated.
There may be some optional opportunities to serve on the volunteer crew for the summer production which runs July 14 to 30.
All technical internships are volunteer-based. Housing, transportation or parking is NOT provided. College credit may be granted but must be coordinated in advance with the intern’s university/college. Interns will work primarily at Town Theatre which is located at 1012 Sumter Street in downtown Columbia and at Town’s warehouse located off Shop Road.
