Rising Stars ~ Rising 5k to rising 4th grade
9 am to 12 pm Monday through Friday

June 11-15                         Princess & Prince Camp
Do you have a royal-in-training in your family? Your little prince or princess will love this glamorous camp, where every performer gets to play their favorite prince or princess! Students will explore the basics of theatre and character development. The week will conclude with a performance for friends and family and maybe even some surprise visits from fellow royalty!

June 18-22                         Musical Theatre Camp
Do you always seem to be “on stage” even when there are no footlights to be found? If this is you, then come sing and dance on Town’s stage. We’ll explore all of the elements of creating a performance for the stage including voice, movement and character development. At week’s end, you’ll star in a musical theatre production with songs from hit Broadway shows.

June 25-29                         Be Our Guest! The Beauty and the Beast Experience – Week One
It’s a tale as old as time… have fun singing, dancing and acting your way through the Beast’s castle! Students will learn about the props, set and technical elements that go into the full stage production and have a chance to visit with some of the cast members of Town’s summer spectacular, Beauty and the Beast. At week’s end, students will present their own version of the show.

July 9-13                             Mixed Up Fairytale Theatre Camp
Ever wonder what would happen if Cinderella didn’t find her prince or if Jack decided to not climb that beanstalk? Things certainly would have turned out differently, wouldn’t they? If you enjoy creating new twists and turns, you will love bringing your creativity to the stage to make your very own fairy tale. We’ll take elements of favorite stories, put them in a grab bag and create our own mixed-up fairy tale. With our story crafted, we’ll take it to the stage and present it at the end of the week!

July 23-27                          Be Our Guest! The Beauty and the Beast Experience – Week Two
It’s a tale as old as time… have fun singing, dancing and acting your way through the Beast’s castle! Students will learn about the props, set and technical elements that go into the full stage production and have a chance to visit with some of the cast members of Town’s summer spectacular, Beauty and the Beast. At week’s end, students will present their own version of the show.

July 30-August 3              Being the Villain
It’s fun to be bad! (When you’re supposed to!) We’ll ditch the princes and princesses and study some of the stage’s “bad guys.” Have fun with scenes, songs and dances from some of your favorite musicals, but instead of wearing the crown, you get to play the villain! A sinister and sneaky showcase will conclude our week of mayhem.

July 30-August 3              Shuffle Ball Change!
Come tap your cares away with this tap intensive workshop. Led by instructors from the SC Music and Dance Academy, students of all ages and levels are welcome! Beginning students will start with the basics and move on to more advanced steps. Advanced dancers can hone already learned skills and progress even more! At the end of the week, students will be ready for a musical theatre tap showcase. Note this class is open to ages 6 and up. Students will be divided by age and ability.

For any of the above camps (except Shuffle Ball Change), your student can participate in a 30-minute Camp Tap Tap Tap Away from 12:00 to 12:30 PM. Be sure to add this on to your summer camp experience.

June 11-15                         Being the Lead ~ Your Turn in the Spotlight
We get it ~ many of us have dreams of being the lead in a show. But it takes a lot of hard work and study to get to that point. This camp will help you learn how to audition and get yourself ready to become the leading man or lady you’ve always dreamed! Students will study one or more leading characters of musical theatre shows — classic and contemporary — and present their characters at the end of the week.

June 18-22                         Sing, Sing, Sing!!! Musical Theatre Camp
Do you always seem to be “on stage” even when there are no footlights to be found? If this is you, then come sing and dance on Town’s stage. June 25-29                         Acting Adventures
Smack! Bam! Thud! How many times have you seen some fantastic fight scene and wonder how everyone walks away unscathed? Ever been in a show and 5 pages of the script get skipped, yet the audience never even knew? How did they do that? This camp will take youth actors through some of the more specialized areas acting. From improvisation to stage combat, this camp offers a variety of performing skills to increase an actor’s capacity. Portions of the stage combat choreography will be taught by Kira Nessel who is certified by the Society of American Fight Directors. The camp will culminate in a showcase featuring some of the skills attained.

July 9-13                             Audition Dates are Set. Now What?*
This camp is for rising 9th to 12th grades.
This hands-on audition workshop will give you the tools you need to walk into your next audition feeling ready and confident. Learn how to break through the uncertainty of learning a new piece and owning your audition in a fun, safe and constructive environment. You’ll experience individual coaching on a monologue and a vocal performance piece. We’ll discuss relaxation and focusing techniques. By week’s end, we will hold a mock audition so you can practice what you have learned. This camp will be led by Sheldon Pascal, Charlie Goodrich, Kerri Roberts and Jeremy Reasoner.

July 16-20                          Triple Threat Camp*
NOTE THIS IS A DAY-LONG CAMP that runs from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. A lunch break will be taken.
Sing ~ dance ~ and act! You can have it all! Join us for an intense (yet extremely rewarding!) camp for students who are eager to explore performing on a regular basis and perhaps even study theatre in high school and/or college. We’ll spend our days developing performance pieces (scenes as well as musical theatre selections) that focus on the whole performer (vocals, movement and character). Enjoy learning from diverse faculty who have expertise in their focus area. Faculty include Jeremy Reasoner and Kathy Seppamaki (voice), Heather Stokes and Christy Shealy Mills (dance) and Jamie Harrington (drama). An end-of-week showcase will allow students to present their hard to work to friends and family.
