Town Theatre continues the celebration of this historic 90th season with one of the longest running off-Broadway shows of all time, Little Shop of Horrors. This affectionate spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies welcomes you to the world of Audrey II, an exotic plant inhabited by an alien creature that threatens humanity’s existence. A clumsy skid row floral assistant, Seymour Krelborn (played by newcomer Sean Stephens) becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood (Scott Stepp of Mame and My Fair Lady). His fellow employee, and secret love, is Audrey (taken by Danielle Peterson of Cats) and together they convince the shop owner Mr. Mushnik (Sid Smith of Jekyll and Hyde) to attract business by displaying a new plant. And the plot just grows and grows (pun intended) to a surprise ending that you will have to discover by coming to the show. With tongue firmly planted in cheek, this charming, tuneful and hilarious musical is an overwhelming crowd pleaser.
