Buddy, the Buddy Holly Story

buddy holly promo photo1Town’s tribute to music legend Buddy Holly falls just after the 50-year anniversary of the “day the music died.” Audiences will delight in seeing and hearing Midlands’ performers bring to life the tunes of Buddy Holly and the Crickets. The role of Buddy is played by Charlie Duncan (Cats) with Alex McCollum (Lucky Stiff), Town newcomer Gabe Flores and veteran performer Jason Sprankle as the Crickets. Radio personality Gary Pozsik (Damn Yankees) brings his “day job” to the stage as he portrays DJ HiPockets Duncan. Waldo Medlin (Damn Yankees) handles dual roles of producer Norman Petty and the entertaining Big Bopper. George Dinsmore (The Wizard of Oz and See How they Run), Valdina Hall (Town’s Sweet Charity and Workshop’s Bubblin’ Brown Sugar), Elizabeth Reigel (The Music Man), Gregory Karr (West Side Story) and Bree Dinsmore (Aladdin Jr.) return to Town’s stage playing multiple characters in this fast-paced production. In addition, Town welcomes Gary Ziccardi (chaplain at Fort Jackson), Susie Gibbons and Kathleen Jackson (music majors at USC), Toni Chatman (seen in Trustus’ Rocky Horror), Crystal Rollison and Chris Robnette in their debut performances.
